The last time I had read any of The Inheritance Cycle was when book 4 had come out. Fast forward 5 years later and I’m in my last year of college (which has been a pretty rough ride for a number of reasons). Before college started consuming all of my time I would read two books a week, but for the past few years that number has been a solid zero. It would take me months to finish one book because I either didn’t have the time or the motivation to do much of anything. A few months ago I decided to start rereading The Inheritance Cycle despite the small stack of unread books I have, and boy, was I glad I did.
I didn’t realize how much I had missed Alagaësia and all of its inhabitants! I remembered enjoying them the first time I read them, and I enjoyed them just as much this time, if not more. They reminded me of how good it feels to read a fantastic book, and cry and laugh in all the same spots even if you knew what was going to happen. They’ve helped me through the past couple of stressful months, and I’m sure they’ll help me again some day.
And for that I say thank you to the wonderful author who brought them into existence.
