Christopher On How He’s Grown as a Writer

Christopher recently sat down with the folks at Tor Books to discuss growing as an author. grown as a writer

His writing has changed a lot since Eragon, in no small part because he’s no longer a teenager. So much of writing comes from experience, both in life and improving one’s craft in storytelling. Youth was an advantage because as a young author he didn’t know what he was trying to accomplish, so fear played a lesser role; he just set out to do it. But he felt his skill in eliciting a desired response or feeling in a reader with a particular scene was inconsistent. Now Christopher is a more technically sound writer due to years of experience with editing and vast amounts of reading on various topics in the language arts. grown as a writer
