Now Available: Map of Alagaësia Prints!

Welcome, Friends!

I’m delighted to offer signed prints of Alagaësia once again via my Etsy shop. After the first limited edition run of fifty giclées ran out last year, many of you wrote to request I make more available . . . so, your wish is my command! These prints are a bit smaller than the prior batch and are not part of a limited, numbered run.

When I began writing Eragon, I didn’t intend to draw a map; it seemed simple enough to remember all the locations. But as Eragon, Brom, and Saphira left Palencar Valley, I found myself getting lost in my own world. Sketching in the western half of Alagaësia—for surely that would be sufficient—it soon became clear that I needed . . . more. So I scribbled down some rough shapes for what lay to the east.

In my haste, I made the Beor Mountains many times the size of the Spine, and that got me wondering what would happen if they really were that big. And the rest, as they say, is history. (You can read more about the process here.)

I sketched the original with pencil, which allowed for easy changes, but the final version was drawn with a pair of old Bic pens (not having fancy art supplies, I grabbed what was handy), which gave a sharper look compared with the drawing of Saphira’s eye.

The fine quality of these prints brings out every detail, so you can follow your favorite character’s journey and imagine stories of your own.

Some relevant stats about the giclées:

Paper: Baryta, semi-glossy, archival
Size: 13.5” x 9” (including white border)
Signed: yes (I signed on the map so you can frame right to the edge of the drawing.)

Also, keep your eyes open over the next few weeks—there are more prints to come!

Thank you again for your support and . . .

May your swords stay sharp!
