June 2015 Alagaësia Newsletter

Christopher sent this letter to Alagaësia.com subscribers earlier this month, and we’re now making it available to those who haven’t read it.

Kvetha Fricaya! Greetings Friends!

The last six months have been busy, busy, busy. As always, I’ve been tapping away on the latest book (a sci-fi adventure, as I’ve said before) and the manuscript is starting to achieve towering proportions. Hopefully I’ll reach the end in the nearish future, although I’m starting to have the creeping feeling that it may end up longer than I expected. . . .

Also, the past six months have seen the addition of an enormous amount of content to our website. We’ve uploaded material from the deluxe editions of the Inheritance Cycle (material that, until now, has been otherwise inaccessible), deleted scenes, video interviews with numerous other authors, a large and ever-growing art gallery, Q&As, writing tipsTumblr blogs, and of course, continuing updates on my latest novel.

It’s been quite the project! And we’re far from done. You can expect even more of the above in the coming months, as well as a few surprises too! Hopefully you’ll swing by and check it out.

Since I’m concentrating on writing, I haven’t been traveling much, but I did manage to make it down to Salt Lake City for the launch party of Brandon Mull’s latest book, Five Kingdoms: Crystal Keepers. It was a treat to hang out with him and to goof around on stage in a few comedy skits. (Authors doing comedy: the horror, the horror!) The day after, I also did an event with Rachel Hartman and Arwen Elys Dayton. As always, it was a pleasure to meet all of the people who showed up. Thank you! (Besides, I gotta keep my signing hand in shape for the next book tour!)

Other than that, the only other news is that I’m currently in possession of what I call a book beard. As long as I’m writing this book, it stays on. It makes for an interesting way to judge the progression of the manuscript, although trimming the beard (and the book!) can sometimes be a pain.

Once again, thank you for reading the Inheritance Cycle! Your continued enthusiasm is very much appreciated.

Sé onr sverdar sitja hvass!
