Christopher Interviews Laura Sebastian

“I saw the hatred in her eyes, felt her wrath like a hurricane ripping at my skin. She won’t stop until she has my head, and I did that to her. This I do regret. But she was right, in a way. I was a princess made of ashes; there is nothing left of me to burn. Now it’s time for a queen to rise.” ~ Theodosia

Join Christopher and author Laura Sebastian as they sit down to discuss storytelling and her debut novel, Ash Princess.

AshPrincess, by Laura SebastianLaura started writing at a young age, her first projects primarily Harry Potter fan fiction pieces. As her skill grew, she began producing original stories set in her own worlds. She eventually wrote ten books, which didn’t reach publication. Undeterred, Laura continued practicing her craft.

She was enchanted with the fantasy genre but always felt that if she herself were the hero in such a book, she would never make it past the prologue. It wasn’t until Laura thought of Theodosia, a character who shouldn’t have survived the prologue either, that the story of the Ash Princess sparked into existence.

In this exclusive interview, you’ll discover how Laura maps out scenes on index cards, what music inspires her while she writes, and how she submitted her novels. And she offers excellent advice to aspiring authors, including lessons learned throughout the writing and publishing process.
