Thank you, New Jersey!

The Murtagh tour launched into a roaring start in New Jersey last night! Christopher Paolini and remarkable audiobook narrator Gerard Doyle greeted an audience of over three hundred fifty attendees at Barnes & Noble in Clifton, New Jersey.

Christopher detailed his journey from childhood to international best-selling author. Days in winter when his family chewed gum to temporarily chink the walls of their rustic cabin in Montana. Times he stood in a full Renaissance outfit as a teen while promoting his book . . . all the way to standing in that very room with the many fans in attendance.

Gerard treated everyone to a reading of the first chapter of Murtagh. Gravelly dragon voice and snark abounded! And Christopher admitted to writing phrases in the languages of Alagaësia to purposefully make it hard for Gerard to pronounce. Not to mention making each dragon’s voice lower and lower . . .

Christopher and Gerard answered questions about the new Disney+ Eragon series in early development, book inspirations, magic minutia, audiobook recording times, and more.

Then audience members lined up to get their many books signed by both talents. Fans were incredible! So many shared their love of the World of Eragon. Some brought unique gifts crafted for Christopher, others handwritten letters and scrolls. A young boy named Roran attended the event!

The festivities ended up running from 6pm ET through until a little after 11pm ET! But everyone got their books signed, pictures taken, and questions answered.

If you would like to join Christopher at some point along the tour, please check out his Events page for the latest details. Upcoming locations include California, Florida, Illinois Missouri (two events!), Montana, New York, South Dakota, Toronto, Utah (two events!), Washington, Wisconsin, Scotland, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, and Sweden. See you soon!
